Niue (New Zealand)Niue (Niuean: Niuē, NYOO-ay) is a Pacific Island paradise that is one of the smallest, most isolated islands and of the largest raised coral atolls on earth. It is sometimes known as "the Rock of Polynesia", or simply "the Rock". The tiny island country of Niue in the South Pacific Ocean is located in Polynesia and lies northeast of New Zealand. It is a single island, internally self-governing island state in free association with New Zealand. Niue is found midway between Tonga and the Cook Islands. It is the westernmost of the Cook Islands but is administratively separate from them. Ideal Time to Go: April through to November. It is known for migrating whales swimming in Niue's waters between July and October.
